Who is Fontayne
At the helm of Fontayne Selections is director Julien Craeye. A native of Troyes, the historic Capital of Champagne, Julien’s young life was spent immersed in the rich wine heritage of the region. Raised just a few cobblestoned streets from the famous vineyards and original manors of the Champagne Counts, Julien has experienced the very best of the province.
“Where I come from, you start drinking Champagne at a young age – we don’t drink it to necessarily celebrate something, but when someone comes over, it’s a tradition to pop a cork to welcome the guests”.
Julien’s love of great wine and food was further heightened in his early 20’s, after travelling across Europe as a professional motocross athlete.
“Ultimately, I really want to bring more than just products to Australia. I want to bring the full package, show that sharing a bottle of champagne or wine with your favorite people is one of life’s simplest and most satisfying pleasures. Cheering is not only for celebrations…”
Now based in Australia, Julien has turned his energy to introducing a range of premium alcohol beverages to tables across the country.
Fontayne Selections’ aim is to bring high-end and exclusive beverages to Australia. Our range is always growing and carefully selected from the most iconic places in France.
We are very proud to exclusively partner with some of the finest products out there. We only select beverages that we like and believe in. It is crucial for us that each producer share our vision in order to effectively work together on the long-term.
Our Champagnes are wines with character offering fineness, elegance and distinction in their precious bottles: the magic of the Laurenti taste. Champagne Laurenti
With 45 supple hectares of noble Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Champagne vine, Champagne Laurenti is a 95-year favourite due to their superior quality fruit. Careful cultivation management ensures the natural clay-limestone soil of the vineyard produces a flavoursome fruit, and combined with ample sunshine, develops a character-filled champagne. Maison Laurenti uses only the finest grapes, grown by their own hands, in every bottle.
Fontayne Selections has a range of wine from Corsica, St-Tropez, Savoie and Bordeaux. We are extremely proud to bring these unique wines to the Australian tables.
Starting with Le Rosé Bleu which is the first rosé wine to actively donate to the non-for profit foundation “Plastic Ocean International”. Each bottle of Le Rosé Bleu produced prevent 100 plastic bottles from entering the ocean.
Fontayne Selections has exclusively partnered with Maison Bouey to bring the Private Collection of Mr François-Louis Vuitton. This is the first time some of the best Châteaux classé Grands Crus in Bordeaux produce a personal collection with a very limited number of bottles per vintage.
Fontayne Selections carefully selected each of the spirits in its range. From Grappe de Montpellier, a producer of ultra-premium vodka and gin that won multiple international awards and who focuses on distilling Grape marcs. Ergaster is the first distillery in Picardie to produce a Single Malt Whisky (certified organic).
Premium beverages being our focus, Fontayne Selections brings the most high-end gin to the country. 44°N Gin from Comte de Grasse is a collaborative exploration to create luxury, sustainable spirits which evoke the terroir, heritage and innovation found in the stunning Côte d’Azur, France.
Inspired by the approach of French luxury, Comte de Grasse combine traditional craftmanshipwith cutting edge distillation techniques to reinvent the concept of luxury spirits.
